Solos For The Alto Saxophone Player (Ed. Larry Teal)

Bog | Altsaxofon

Forlag: G. Schirmer
Format: Nodehæfter | Studie

Although many outstanding composers have written for the saxophone, its comparatively late invention leaves a great void in its literature - namely that of pre-20th Century music. If the saxophonist wishes to perform this music, he must turn to transcriptions, and that is what we find in this volume.

Selected and edited by Larry Teal, always with the qualities and limitations of the instrument in mind, these pieces for Alto Saxophone with Piano accompaniment, range in era and style from Haydn to Granados.

Selected for the ABRSM Alto and Baritone examinations grades 6 and 7.

Pieces are different from the many pieces you find elsewhere and more full is not full versions.
          Some are more obscure

Interesting selection of pieces, providing a bit of cahallenge to an intermediate player.

Pieces are around Grade 4 - 5 according to my tutor. Not for the faint hearted but the pieces reward the effort put into playing them and the range of composers is so wide that there is plenty variety to maintain your interest
