Great selection of songs in this book, from classical to contemporary! Some pieces more advanced than others, which is great as it gives the player something to work towards. Also gives a taste of different styles of playing.

This is a brilliant selection for the Intermediate player. There is something for everyone and there are varying degrees of difficulty from basic to more complex. As the player becomes more competent (with practice) they can progress to the more difficult pieces.

I have recently taken grade 3 piano and to keep my motivation for playing the piano going I bought this book. There is a great selection of music in here spanning a whole range of styles. At grade 3 level most of it is well out of my reach but gives me something to strive for. Having said this there are still quite a few pieces that, with some work, are achievable. I am sure I will get many years of pleasure from this book. The only criticism is that the spine is tough and the book doesn't stay open easily. It would be better to be spiral bound.

This is a great compilation that everyone can enjoy. I usually don’t like most of the songs in these types of books, so I end up buying individual sheet music which can be very expensive Overall I think it is very good, which all age ranges can enjoy!

I am an intermediate player and I find the entire series to be varied and good selection of music. the only one I dont like is the Christmas one

Very good book, lots of well known pieces and good arrangements but i don't know whether I'm the only one or its the arrangements but some of my pieces were extremely faint but overall a good book.

A Brilliant book that I think is also for the lesser experienced player as well as the intermediate player. Good arrangements.

I bought the blue book a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed it, so it was with high expectations that I ordered the black book. And by and large, I think that it is another good purchase. There's a great mix of tunes both modern and older. And there's also a good mix of those that I can play by sight (but will get better with practice) and those that are going to take a lot more effort to manage. I would recommend this book to people!

This whole series is spoilt by lack of lyrics making phrasing of songs you don't know difficult. Otherwise good.

I like most of the arrangements - they range from quite basic to quite difficult. A good overall selection, but alot of duplication from other collections, so check songlist carefully.

This is a lovely selection of piano music. Only disappointment was that the songs did not have the words.

A great selection of different styles of music, covering a range of technical difficulty. This is one for the whole family as it covers classic popular songs and melodies as well as some adaptations of orchestral music and film themes.

I purchased the book as gift for my wife. She is studying for Grade 5 Piano at present. She has really enjoyed playing pieces from the book. Her only concern is that the binding makes it difficult to sit the book securely on the piano's music stand. Bending the spine so it sits properly risks pages falling out eventually. Some form of spiral binding would have made the book perfect. That being said, from my point of view, purchasing music books is always difficult as I don't know what level of difficultly to go for. The classification of "Intermediate" (Grade 4 to 6) has proved exactly correct.

It looks like an interesting selection. I bought it for my daughter for Christmas, it is her choice and I think she will be pleased with it.

This is a great selection of pieces for pupils working on Grades 6-7 but there are a number of mistakes in the musical notation and the contents lists "Somwhere" from West Side Story and it isn't included (maybe "Nowhere" would have been a better title!). So beware, but good value......

A great wee book, full of well-loved, well-known music. I would say grade 5 or above in terms of difficulty. Very enjoyable to have such an eclectic mix in one book.

I think this book is excellent - I don't normally enjoy transcriptions but these work really well. The mix of pieces is really good, with traditional favourites mixed with some well chosen contemporary works. This one volume contains some of the most wanted pieces of current times, very popular with all ages. Much better than the other books in the series.

I had to return this book as it was so thick and heavy that it was impossible to balance on the music stand on my piano. The content was too variable in genre. Much better if the compiler had stuck to simple classics, ie Fur Elise,Clair de Lune, and kept the rest for another edition.

A good selection of music for a single book, however when taken as part of the series - excellent

Doesn't have any words for any of the songs, which is disappointing. The actual sheet music is a lot harder than I thought it would be. At a rough guess, it is equivalent to grade 4/5. Don't aim too high with this sort of book, there's no point having one if you cant play it.
