Format: Nodehæfter | Studie

A terrific book of 20 modern studies for either Alto or Tenor saxophone. Each study deals with a particular aspect of rhythmic playing ranging from jazz, rock and funk to contemporary classical. They are moderate length in order to maximise concentration on style and interpretation and have also been compiled in order of difficulty to enable the player to better gauge their progress.

Selected as part of the ABRSM Alto, Tenor and Baritone Saxophone examinations grades 4-6.

My son needed this book for his grade 4 and 5. Good book but sadly needed two other books to complete repetoir

As a clarinetist switching to Alto Sax I found this book was a good level for me as the studies have enough in them to make them interesting unlike other saxophone study books I've seen.

I think this is an amazing book for any saxophonist. The pieces progress starting at around grade 5 and are amazing, showing off skills such as glisses, lips and growls. Even if you do not have a piano accompaniment, the soloist will still sound awesome!

What a lovely book. This covers all standards from grade 1 to 8! And is used for most exam boards. A good enjoyable study for exams or pleasure playing.

Excellent book. It was recommended to me for my grade 3 by my teacher and its fab for allowing you to progress and challenge you in playing and also serves for grades higher too so worth the money and best to buy from music room. Hope this is helpful

This is my absolute favourite study book for saxophone. The works are definitely not easy and could be considered to be an "acquired taste" but when practising I nearly always turn to this book for inspiration, technical gymnastics and plain enjoyment. Thoroughly recommendable to anyone who wants to have a "jolly good blow" on his or her own.

I found this book to a satisfaction rate. I did however enjoy playing along to some of the songs that i was familiar with. I found that it didn't explain chord sequences for blues scales well enough though. The piano part was more involved in the piece than the saxophone was, "I thought it was a saxophone book!" On the whole this book is to an excellent standard and i would recommened it to any young person who is grade 5 or above.
